“SWATCHH JAL SWASTH JEEVAN” INSTALLED WATER PURIFIERS AT 100 SCHOOLS & 1 WATER KIOSK
Rotary Club of Calcutta Yuvis had a Mission for providing safe drinking water to the Community and specially Children and named it as “Swachh Jal Swasth Jeevan”. Our Club provided Safe Drinking Water Facility to Students and Teachers in various Under Privileged Schools in an around Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, and North and South 24 Parganas Districts to fulfil this Mission. . A total of 35 Water Purifiers were installed in as many different schools in the year 2019-20. Our Mission of “Swachh Jal Swasth Jeevan” is benefitting more than 41000 students and their Teachers. In this context it may be mentioned that Safe Drinking Water Kiosk was a long time demand from the community of Hind motor area and thus our Club identified the premises of Bhadrakali Youth Corps as the ideal place to install one such Kiosk. A Purified Cold Drinking Water Kiosk was donated by the then Club President Rtn. Sarad Khatore in memory of his parents was installed by our Club at the Club Premises of our Local Partner Bhadrakali Youth Corps at Hind motor and was inaugurated by DG Rtn. Mukul Sinha on 2nd July, 2018. Entire locality having population of 1500 families are taking benefit of Purified water from this water kiosk.
