Meet District Governer (RID 3291)

Meet District Governor 2017-18 (Rotary International District 3291, India) – Brojo Gopal Kundu

Born in Kolkata, Rtn Brojo Gopal Kundu did his schooling from Rani Bhabani School, Kolkata and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Distinction from the University of Calcutta followed by a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

The activities beyond his curriculum are also varied and many. He represented his school and college team in swimming apart from taking active roles in various other cultural events.

During his very short stretch of service life, he served the renowned BRAITHWAITE AND COMPANY where he was absorbed after having joined as a Trainee.

Enterprise has always been his priority in life. So, it was quite natural for him to have discontent in routine service life. As a result, he gradually started developing his creative instincts and presently is the Director of Elite Interiors Pvt Ltd, an organization engaged in Interior Designing and execution of Interior and allied works that has already established its credibility in executing Projects on Trunkey basis for Multinational Companies, Corporate Offices, I.T. Offices, Fire star Hotels, Consulate Offices and Foreign Banks throughout India.

He is an active Member of Interior Designers’ Association – Association of Builders & Interior Designers which bears the testimony of his organizing capability and also he is a member of Bengal National Chamber of Commerce, Indian Institute of Interior Designers, Outram Club and Lake Club

Rtn Brojo joined Rotary Club of Calcutta Old City in the year 1997 and served the Club in all positions and was Club Secretary twice. He received District Governor’s Citation as an Outstanding Secretary for the year 2000-01. He was Convener of the District’s Millennium Secretaries Association. He became President of RC Calcutta Old City in the 2003-2004

At the District level he has served Assistant Governor (Admin) twice and Assistant Governor (Service) twice. Rtn Brojo was a District Secretary (Event) in the year 2008-2009. He served as a District Co-ordinator and in many other areas of the District.

He is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Life Member of the Four Way Test Association of India.

He tied nuptial with Bandana, an active member of Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta Old City. The couple is blessed with one son Subhendu,who is doing business in the interior trade after completion of MBA and married to Somasree who is M.A. in Bengali and daughter Sudeshna completed Master in Hotel Management and married to Amartya, Advocate in High Court, Kolkata.
