We had a wonderful debate. Topic was “India is too liberal a democracy – are we ready for it?
The two teams were
1. Thiagu, Mohan and Sundar – For the motion – ie., Yes, we are ready for it
2. Siva, Gopal and Kulamani – Against the motion
The debate was of a high standard with each member making points and substantiating the same with examples or statistics. The rapt attention of the audience also spoke volumes about the interest and intensity of the debate. Members felt that we should have more such sessions.
The moderator was Rtn Jaishankar, and he gently but firmly guided the debate and summed up with elan
